TGF Staff Introductions: Ella

Name: Ella Stormark Title: Office & Music Manager Time at TGF: 4 years I left rainy Bergen for rainy London eight years ago, and I've had a bit of a love / hate relationship to the city ever since. I love the diversity, the opportunities and music - the amount of people, lack of nature and overcrowded tubes? Not so much... However, I've learnt to deal with the latter as the good outweighs the bad. Besides working at The Great Frog, I'm a freelance writer, and I also do content creation and artist relations for Orange Amps, which has allowed me to work with and interview some really incredible artists, all of which you can find up here, as well as putting on my own gigs and jam nights via The Jonesing Jams, where I pretty much just put on the shows I'd want to attend myself. I could do with some more hours in the day, but I love what I do and might as well make the most of it! Here at The Great Frog I run our East London head office, and I also run TGF Music which I started back in 2017 when owner Reino asked me to create something that paid homage to The Great Frog's musical background and history. Here I do features on both up and coming and established artists through interviews and articles, as well as creating monthly playlists for our Spotify, and my very own guilty pleasure, dig into older bands through our 'From the Archives' series [caption id="attachment_64500" align="alignnone" width="2000"] Ella Stormark & Motörhead's Phil Campbell[/caption] How did you first come across TGF: I was first introduced to The Great Frog about two weeks after I first moved to London in January 2012, and was told by my mate upon entering that I would adore this shop - and I did. I spent some of my last saved up Norwegian money on a skull ring, that I unfortunately lost on a night out a couple of years later. Oh well, it's better to have loved and lost then never loved at all, right? First TGF piece: Our discontinued 'Memento Mori' skull ring. Favourite TGF piece: I've built up a decent collection during my time here at the frog, but I think my favourites will have to be my Large Feather setting with Citrine,Phoenix with Peridot and my Old Motörhead Warpig ring. What do you like about the company: I absolutely love the history and heritage of The Great Frog, and I could spend hours listening to founder Pat's stories from back in they day, although, he says the 70's were a bit blurry...; 'If you remember the 70s, you did them wrong.' On a day to day basis though, I would have to say my colleagues. I've met some of my best friends here and I'm so grateful I get to spend my days around people that make me smile and laugh until my face hurts.
