TGF Spotlight | Of Rats and Realms: Castle Rat Summons The Bestiary

September 26, 2025

Our premium hand-poured soy wax candle is set in a beautiful reusable hand-made ceramic skull and the fragrance has rich, earthy and woody notes of bergamot, cedarwood, vetiver and labdanum. The Skull Candle is made in collaboration with acclaimed London-based lifestyle brand and candle manufacturers, Earl of East.

Once the candle is finished, appreciate it in its afterlife – use it as a planter, a pot to hold things, or just as an ornament in its own right.

Burn the candle for a minimum of two hours during its first-ever burn to ensure that the wax melts evenly to the edge and bottom of the candle.

Check out the different ways you can reuse the candle below.

As a Plant Pot

Step 1: Remove The Wax

First step, get rid of the remaining candle wax. One easy way to do this is to pour warm water in the ceramic to get rid of the remaining wax once your candle is ready for its afterlife - wait for the wax to melt and pour out the remaining wax.

When most of the wax is removed, use soap and warm water, to clean out any excess wax that is still hanging around.

Step 2: Add Drainage

Add a natural form of drainage to the bottom of the jar maybe by adding a layer or rocks and be sure to place a plant in that has a little pot with holes in at the bottom.

To make sure your plant lasts, we recommend choosing plants that aren't moisture-loving and to use easy plants such as succulents and cacti.

Step 3: Add Potting Mix

Once you've added drainage you can add your chosen plant. Choose a mix that's suitable for your plant, if you're not already popping in a plastic plant pot with soil already in.

For Trinkets and Tools

Our ceramic candles can also be rehomed to house any tools you have. The picture above shows TGF friend Crap Hair Club using the candle in its afterlife as a home for her hairdressing tools.

For Make Up

Use the ceramic skull to keep all your make up essentials safe and in one place, from brushes to the make up itself.
